Jargon

In issue 145 of Game Informer, there is an article about Stacked for the Sony PSP. After first reading about Stacked on Daniel Negreanu’s site, I was a bit skeptical but I may come around. Supposedly, they’ve been working on the AI for over 10 years and it can adapt to our play style. They’ve also built tells into the game. Come on, people! This makes no sense to me. Aren’t true tells supposed to be involuntary things we do? Why would I click an extra button and possibly give away information about my hand, when I could just do nothing and reveal nothing? Although when playing against my friends, I might enjoy doing the chicken dance tell after I give a hammer-style smackdown!

If they really want the copies of Stacked to fly off the shelves, they’ll partner with an existing poker site and allow us to play online for real money. Poker on the go! /drool

I came in 3rd in a 27 player SNG on Poker Stars last night when my straight ran into a full house. (There’s almost a joke there, but it doesn’t quite work.) I put the LAG with the chip lead on trips and went all in. Since I was second in chips when the hand started, I bet the other guy did a happy dance when our cards were flipped over.

I didn’t get to serve up too many suckouts, but with blinds at T100/200 and 12 people remaining, someone hit a one-outter and knocked me down to T350. I managed to battle back with my own chip and a chair style for my best finish yet in a $5 SNG.

For a little variety, I played a few hands of triple draw, Omaha 8 and stud. Oddly enough, I managed to do okay in all 3, and even wound up quite a bit ahead in triple draw. I won’t admit how many triple draw hands I played before I realized I wanted the LOWEST hand possible! The variety was nice, but I need to read up on good starting hands and strategy before I play any more. For a real change of pace, I might look into the casino bonuses.

obviously allowing you to do tells is a stupid idea. i think they mean that they have built tells into the computer players so that you can read them….
